Delivery Options & Timing
What is the cutoff time for same-day delivery?
Place your order by 10:00 AM for guaranteed same-day delivery (where available). Availability is shown at checkout.
What’s the cutoff for scheduled delivery by zone?
To ensure your order is included in your zone's scheduled delivery, place it by 12:00 AM (midnight) the day prior.
What are your delivery hours?
We deliver 7 days a week between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM (EDT). Availability may vary by region.
How fast is Express Delivery?
Express delivery typically arrives within 1 hour of your order being marked “out for delivery.”
How do I know if same-day or express delivery is available in my area?
Delivery options are clearly displayed at checkout. If same-day delivery is available, it will also appear in the top-right corner while browsing.
Should I choose ‘local delivery’ or ‘shipping’?
If 'local delivery' is available for your address, select it—especially for orders containing refrigerated or perishable items. This ensures proper handling and temperature control.
Can I request a specific delivery time?
You may include a preferred delivery time in the checkout notes. While we try our best to accommodate, we cannot guarantee exact timing due to routing, traffic, and order volume.
When will my order arrive?

Costs, Minimums & Zones
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes, we offer free delivery:
- Orders over $150 in ON and QC: Free delivery (applies automatically at checkout)
- Downtown Toronto: Free delivery on orders $60+; otherwise $2.99
- Express Delivery in Downtown: $6.99 flat rate
- Below $150 Outside Downtown Toronto: Starting at $5.99 (final fee calculated at checkout)
Note: We reserve the right to cancel, adjust, or request additional fees for orders with unusually high delivery costs due to location, weight, or complexity. We’ll always contact you first if this applies.

Free Delivery Policy
We offer free delivery on orders over $150 (before taxes and discounts) within our local delivery zones.
Please note:
We reserve the right to cancel, adjust, or request additional delivery fees for orders that incur significantly higher-than-average shipping costs due to factors such as:
Remote or extended-distance delivery addresses
Oversized or unusually heavy orders
Multiple delivery attempts or complex drop-off conditions
We will always contact you before making any adjustments to your order total. Our goal is to maintain fair pricing while ensuring sustainable delivery operations.
What is the minimum order?
Your subtotal must be at least $30 (after discounts) to check out.
Where do you deliver?
We currently deliver across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and ship throughout Ontario and Quebec.
What if I’m not in your delivery zone?
We’re expanding and happy to help if possible:

Ship to a friend, family member, or workplace within our current zone

Contact us—we may be able to accommodate your location
If delivering to a limited-hours location (e.g., office), please note that in the checkout comments or email us to coordinate.
Receiving Your Order
What if I’m not home when the delivery arrives?
Include detailed delivery instructions in the comments at checkout (e.g., “leave with concierge,” “behind planter”). If no safe place is specified and the delivery can’t be completed, a redelivery fee may apply.
Are refrigerated/frozen items safe if left outside?
Our packaging is designed for in-transit cooling, but we do not include ice packs for local delivery. We cannot guarantee food safety if refrigerated items are left unattended. Please ensure someone is available to receive and store items promptly.
What happens if a delivery can’t be completed?
A $3.99 redelivery fee applies if:

The delivery address is inaccessible (e.g., locked gate, missing buzzer info)

Delivery rescheduled after courier has already begun route
Tracking & Communication
How will I receive updates?

Text Confirmation: You'll be asked to confirm your delivery window by text. You can reply to adjust the time (1 hour before for downtown; 3 hours before elsewhere)

Email: You’ll receive an “out for delivery” email and a delivery confirmation afterward

Your Account: Track order status through your UPPER BODEGA account

Delivery Photo: We’ll send a photo showing where your order was left
I received a delivery text but didn’t get my order. Why?
If your order includes perishable items, we require a reply to the confirmation text before dispatch. If no response was received (or it was late), the delivery is rescheduled to preserve product quality. Please contact us to reschedule.

What should I do after receiving my order?

UPPER BODEGA Delivery Terms & Conditions
1. General Delivery Process
We use our own drivers as well as third-party services (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash, Canada Post) to deliver your order to the address provided at checkout. Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
2. Delivery Address Accuracy
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not liable for delays or losses due to incorrect information. Redelivery fees may apply.
3. Proof of Delivery
Delivery is considered complete when any of the following is recorded:

GPS timestamp and coordinates

Photograph of the package at the delivery site

Confirmation from the delivery partner

Signature at delivery (if applicable)

Confirmation of drop-off with concierge, security, or mailroom
4. Unattended Deliveries
Unless otherwise requested, you authorize us to leave your order unattended at the address provided. By doing so, you accept the risks of loss, theft, or spoilage after delivery.
5. Delivery to Third Parties
If your order is left with a concierge, receptionist, or similar third party, delivery is considered complete once confirmed by our Proof of Delivery. We are not liable for mishandling or loss beyond that point.
6. Risk of Loss
Ownership and responsibility for your order transfer to you once delivery is confirmed.
7. Stolen or Missing Packages After Delivery
If you believe your package was stolen after confirmed delivery:

Report it to your local authorities

Contact your concierge or building management

We will provide Proof of Delivery to support your investigation, but we are not obligated to issue a refund or replacement
8. Delivery Location Security
You are responsible for ensuring your chosen delivery location is safe and accessible. By providing instructions, you accept the associated risks.
9. Claims Process
If your tracking shows delivered but you have not received your order, contact us within 24 hours at hello@upperbodega.com with your order number and issue description. We will investigate with the carrier.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal laws.
11. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of your order applies.
